Saitek Cyborg Gaming Keyboard

Gaming keyboards are a little more expensive than high-end general purpose keyboards. In my experience they do enhance your gaming performance and gaming enjoyment enough to justify the extra cost, especially for the more serious gamer.

Saitek Cyborg Backlit Gaming Keyboard

The Saitek Cyborg keyboard is one of the latest gaming keyboards, and it packs some great features into a distinctive design.
Cyborg V7 Gaming Keyboard with Tri-Color Backlighting

Cyborg PK17U Gaming Keyboar

First of all it has 12 special 'Cyborg' keys that can be programmed with any function (as can all other keys). The Cyborg keys appear down each side of the keyboard and are easy to reach and use.

Next is the backlighting, which is very clever. There are five zones on the keyboard, each of which can have its own colour (from a choice of 5 colours) and brightness level. This means you can set the backlighting to highlight just the main gaming keys, or colour code them. It's a great system and works well. The backlighting is controlled from a touch-sensitive panel at the top of the keyboard.

The keyboard also has a gaming mode that locks out the Windows key. On top of that, the main gaming keys (WASD and spacebar) are metal-coated to stop them wearing out.

Crystal-clear backlit keys allow gamers to hit the right key every time when gaming through the night.
1   Backlight illumination shines through the laser etched keys in ‘stealth red’ for perfect night vision.
2   Anti-Ghosting of key gaming area ensures simultaneous key presses register when needed.
3   Media control keys including volume.
4   Program your function keys with your favorite gaming macros using the powerful ST software.

Other features include multimedia controls, audio sockets for microphone and headphones, and a USB connection.

World's First Eye-Controlled Laptop Debuts at CeBIT

The Swedish company collaborated with Lenovo to create the world’s first eye-controlled laptop. The laptop has a sensor bar below its display that tracks the user’s eyes. Once calibrated, it lets the user perform a variety of additional functions using their eyes, such as switching between open application windows or firing up a quick access taskbar.

Other useful features of the technology include notifications that pop up right on the spot where you’re looking at. Engadget also mentioned an eye-controlled game demo, although sadly they didn’t capture it in the demo video below.

Tobii is smart enough to realize that their technology isn’t meant to replace the keyboard or the mouse, rather it can serve as a complimentary way of controlling a device. Imagine playing a video game where the camera follows the movement of your eyes, or allows you to reload, access the menu or pause the game when you look off screen or at a corner. Or displays that only turn on when you’re looking at them. Or computers that can be controlled even when you’re a bit far away – the boss is coming! hide facebook! Just being able to switch windows or tabs using only your eyes makes it much faster to work on a computer. Man, the future is AWESOME.

Intel Core i7-980X Processor

Generally speaking, most users barely tap the potential of their computer system. Applications and video games are usually more affected by clock speed than they are processor cores, and many programs still are single-threaded. But again, this applies to most users. The differences between hardware enthusiasts or power-users and their casual PC user counterparts are acute and to the point that they have little in common with each other. While mainstream users concern themselves with browsing the web and checking email, enthusiasts are constantly looking to push their hardware with powerful overclocking experiments and power users create multiple virtual machine profiles for commercial application.
Intel offers something for everyone, as their extensive product line can prove. The chipmaker produces desktop, notebook, server, and personal digital appliance CPUs, Ethernet and Wi-Fi network processors, and countless co-processor units. Keep this in mind as Benchmark Reviews presents the Intel Core i7-980X processor, a six-core Westmere 32nm CPU. Codenamed Gulftown, this 3.33GHz Extreme Edition processor features an unlocked clock speed multiplier with twelve computing threads and a 12MB cache. Built for the Intel X58-Express enthusiast platform, Benchmark Reviews tests the BX80613I7980X retail part in gaming, computing, and overclocking performance.

While Gulftown's six-core processor architecture may be the most intriguing aspect of Intel's Core i7-980X CPU, it wouldn't be possible without Westmere's 32nm process technology. Although the consumer software industry has been slow to develop applications that can utilize multiple CPU cores and/or threads, there are many commercial programs which handle four or more processor threads very well... and even a few video games. Our benchmarks will determine how important multiple cores are to gaming later in this article, but it goes without question that Virtual-Machine applications receive immediate benefits from the added Hyper-Threading. Some already-popular productivity software titles also utilize multi-threaded processor cores, such as: Adobe Photoshop and Premiere-Pro, AutoDesk Maya and 3DS-Max, Microsoft Excel and Windows Live Movie Maker, Sony Vegas and Acid, and also VirtualDub.

Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG-6847

How most energy can a 4.6-pound cover unequivocally offer? More than we competence think. Thanks to a second-generation Intel Core i5 CPU as good as AMD Radeon HD graphics, a Acer Aspire TimelineX AS4820TG-6847 ($729) outperforms most of a foe as good as looks great we do it. Perks such as Dolby Surround Sound unequivocally pacify a deal, too. Read upon to find out how this thin-and-light speedster compares to a competition.

Understated though elegant. That’s how we’d report a framework of a TimelineX AS4820TG. The lid has a black brushed aluminum finish, whilst a palm rest has a lighter brushed steel treatment. Glossy black cosmetic surrounds a arrangement as good as keyboard, that adds a good accent though picks up fingerprints.
Above a set of keys upon a left side of a rug is a grooved round energy button, subsequent to that have been LED wake up lights. Two speakers distant by a Dolby Home Theater Virtual Surround Sound tag lay in a center, as good as dual skinny black buttons–one to launch a Power Smart Manager as good as an jump out symbol for a tray-loading DVD drive–are upon a right side of a deck.

After personification a Hulu video during full shade for fifteen minutes, a TimelineX AS4820TG stayed good subsequent a starting point of what we cruise uncomfortable. The touchpad as good as keypad (between a G as good as H keys) both checked in during 89 degrees, as good as a bottom purebred a far-from-threatening 83 degrees.

Keyboard as good as Touchpad

The AS4820TG’s FineTip set of keys felt gentle to a touch. The pleasing reply wasn’t as pointy as we’d prefer, though we had no complaint essay this examination as good as a couple of e-mails. The Ctrl as good as Alt buttons upon both sides have been a same distance as a minute keys, that resulted a couple of errors whilst hold typing. While it wasn’t just a trampoline, a set of keys had a bit some-more be during home than we’d like, too.

It would be good to see dedicated keys for adjusting liughtness as good as volume; those controls have been swap keys upon a arrow buttons to a right, though a duty pass is upon a distant left. That done becoming different a volume a ambidextrous process.
The 3.5 x 1.9-inch aspect of a touchpad was well-spoken as good as accurate; it was easy to govern multitouch gestures such as two-finger scrolling, pinch-to-zoom, as good as rotating pictures. We cite particular rodent buttons, though a singular club upon a AS4820TG was vast sufficient so we never clicked a wrong side by accident.

Display as good as Sound

The widescreen 14-inch LED backlit arrangement upon a AS4820TG has a customary fortitude of 1366 x 768 pixels. Despite a silken finish, we didn’t notice most reflections during an part of Spartacus: Gods of a Arena streamed upon Netflix. Though a arrangement tilts behind a far-reaching 165 degrees, observation angles dimmed during twenty or thirty degrees from center. Colors were faded, too. Even after adjusting a shade for gamma, contrast, as good as brightness, colors remained flat, from Hulu to YouTube. Though characters looked pale, facial expressions as good as view item were crisp.

Augmenting a stereo speakers upon a 4820TG is Dolby Home Theater technology. Dolby’s Audio Enhancer resolution combined much-needed firmness to a customary audio output. Vocal as good as guitar highs in Queens of a Stone Ages’ “3′s & 7′s” offering most some-more flog with a underline activated. Surround Sound creates a apparition of 5.1 approximate sound, so prolonged as we set a volume upon top of 50 percent. Speaking of volume, during about 85 percent, a AS4280TG’s speakers got so shrill that a crony could simply have out a tunes from a subsequent room.

Ports as good as Webcam

The AS4820TG offers 4 USB ports: Three have been upon a right side as good as a single is upon a left. The superfluous ports, all of that have been upon a left, embody a headphone as good as microphone jack, Ethernet, HDMI, as good as VGA. A tray-loading DVD expostulate is upon a right side along with a energy port. Last though not slightest is a 5-in-1 mental recall label slot, located upon a left side of a front lip.

The 1.3-megapixel high-definition webcam upon this cover captures 1280 x 1024 still shots as good as 640 x 480-pixel, thirty fps video. Footage looked abounding in item as good as good lit. Fujitsu Launching 3D Destop Computer Sans Glasses

TOKYO (AFP) - Japanese IT services giant Fujitsu on Wednesday unveiled what it calls the world's first desktop computer with a display that enables users to see 3D images without needing special glasses.
The Esprimo FH99/CM desktop PC, included in Fujitsu's new line-up of the FMV computer series, has its liquid crystal display covered by a conversion panel enabling viewers to see three dimensional images on the screen.

The company plans to launch the 3D PC on February 25 in Japan, eyeing later overseas launches.
Fujitsu has already launched 3D desktop computers that require viewers to wear special glasses.
"Without having to wear glasses, you can enjoy watching 3D images with others," said Fujitsu engineer Toshiro Ohbitsu. "You can share the excitement with family."
The computer enables users to record and watch television and edit images.
Last month, Toshiba launched in Japan what it calls the world's first television that allows viewers to see 3D images without special glasses, amid intensifying competition in the market as the technology gains momentum.
Many in the industry say 3D television demand is being held back by consumers' resistance to wearing glasses.
